Iran Energy Exchange to increase number of trading operations

TEHRAN, Iran, April 7

Trend:

Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) plans to offer new commodities for trading in new Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), said Managing Director of the exchange.

"IRENEX is inclined to increase its services and offering since it had remarkable number of foreign and domestic buyers in last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 20, 2020)," said Seyed Ali Hosseini, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"Iran Energy Exchange has sold 6.7 million tons of products in last Iranian year that were mostly exported, and we seek to increase the number and diversity of offerings this year," the managing director said.

"We plan to accept new suppliers and open new brokerage offices and brokers to facilitate the trading conditions," he said. "In addition, IRENEX started to trade power securities that are to be developed in new Iranian year."

"While the volume of oil sale via energy exchange faced challenges in last Iranian year, we tried to shift the sale to primary products including gasoline, kerosene, LNG and naphtha to compensate the low level of the oil sale," the managing director added.
