The Masjed Soleiman Oil and Gas Production Company of Iran fulfilled its plan on oil and gas extraction by 101 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), said Ghobad Nasseri Executive Director of the company, Trend reports citins the company’s portal.
According to Nasseri, this means the extraction from oil and gas fields of the company increased 1 percent.
The director added that however, the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, hot summer days and US sanctions against Iran have made oil and gas extraction extremely difficult.
Iran’s Masjed Soleiman Oil and Gas Production Company is operating under auspieces of National Iranian South Oil Company. The company's operations covers about 27,000 square kilometers in Ilam and Lorestan provinces of Iran.
The Masjed Soleiman Oil and Gas Production Company of Iran has 16 oil fields with the capacity of 29 billion barrels of oil and 8 gas fields. As reported, the company extracts an average of 170,000 barrels of crude oil and 10 million cubic meters of gas per day.
