Gas consumption in Iran will decrease by about 10 percent with carrying out of certain operations in the boiler rooms of housing and commercial facilities, Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hassan Montazer Torbati said, Trend reports referring to the NIGC’s website.
Montazer Torbati noted that this means saving about 500 million cubic meters of gas per year and about 1.5 million cubic meters per day.
The deputy minister added that in this regard, repair and other adjustment operations have started to be implemented in boiler rooms of more than 300,000 housing and commercial facilities in Iran.
The director emphasized a total of $200 million will be spent on these operations.
Iran consumed a total of about 105 billion cubic meters of gas during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020). Of this volume, 39.6 billion cubic meters were consumed in Iran's housing, commercial and small industrial facilities during the reporting period.
At the same time, 23.8 billion cubic meters of it were consumed in Iran’s large industrial facilities and 41.3 billion cubic meters at Iran's thermal power plants.
