New petrochemical plant to be launched in Iran

The Hegmataneh petrochemical plant in the Hamadan Province (western Iran) will be officially launched in the next two weeks, the Head of the Public Relations Department of the Hegmataneh petrochemical plant in Iran, Mehdi Inanlu told IRNA, Trend reports.

Inanlu noted that the first part of raw materials will enter the plant and the plant will start operating tomorrow (November 20).

The official added that the Hegmataneh petrochemical plant, which built on 15 hectares of land, can produce 45,000 tons of products per year. Of this volume, 36,000 tons will be PVC powder (polyvinyl chloride) and 9,000 tons of - PVC granules.

“Iran's demand for these products will be fully met within the country through the production of medical products, and conditions will be created for the export of additional products,” he noted.

A total of 7.15 trillion rials (about $170 million) was spent on the construction and launch of the plant and about 235 people will be employed after the launch of the plant.
