Iran beats new record on gas consumption

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 26

Daily gas consumption in Iran amounted to about 810 million cubic meters on November 24, which is a new record for Iran’s gas consumption, Caretaker of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Joulaei stressed that gas consumption in Iran’s housing sector amounted to about 502 million cubic meters on Nov. 24. This is due to the drop in weather temperature in some provinces of Iran.

Joulaei added that so, gas consumption was at the highest level in the Golestan, Gilan, Mazandaran, North Khorasan, Ardabil, and West Azerbaijan provinces of Iran.

The official noted that gas consumption in Iran's large industrial facilities was 125 million cubic meters, and in thermal power plants - 126 million cubic meters.

As reported, Iran currently produces 900 million cubic meters of sweet gas daily.
