Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Production Company (MOGPC) earns annually more than $16 million from the sale of additional gas extracted with oil from own fields, said Executive Director for MOGPC Hamid Kavian, Trend reports citing the company's website.

Kavian noted that the company is implementing the plan related to collect gas extracted with oil and remove flares.

He added that under the contract, Iran's Hirbod Niroo Company is currently collecting 12 million cubic feet (about 340,000 cubic meters) of oil and gas daily from the 3rd phase of the Marun field.

The director said that 15 million cubic feet (about 424,000 cubic meters) of gas will be collected daily from this phase after completion of the upgrade operations.

Kavian emphasized that at the same time, Iran's Tamkar Gas Equipment Company will soon start to collect daily 22 million cubic feet (about 622,000 cubic meters) of gas from the 6th phase of the Marun field.

According to him, thus, a total of 37 million cubic feet (about 1.04 million cubic meters) will be collected daily. This means that the company collects 50 percent of the gas extracted with oil.

The director also added that the company plans to fully collect oil and gas extracted with oil from oil wells operating under the company over the next two years.

The Marun Oil and Gas Production Company extracted more than 191,000 barrels of oil in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020) by using the reporting equipment.

About 580,000 barrels of oil are extracted daily from wells owned by Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Company. Some of the oil goes for domestic consumption and the rest for export. The company also extracts about 36,000 barrels of liquefied gas daily, which is transport to the Mahshahr petrochemical plant.

The company extracts about 560 million cubic feet of gas (about 15.8 million cubic meters) daily, along with oil, and 465 million cubic meters (about 13.1 million cubic meters) is transported to related locations.

The company produces 7,200 barrels of naphtha daily and transports it for export to Mahshahr port.
