Work underway on improving reliability of natural gas supply to Uzbekistan’s Fergana Valley

Work continues on the construction of a looping at the high-mountainous section of the Akhangaran - Pungan gas pipeline to improve the reliability of natural gas supply to the Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Epsilon (EDC) press service.

According to Epsilon (EDC), active work continues on the reconstruction and modernization of the gas transportation infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

In particular, overhaul of the section 262-311 kilometers of the first line of the BGR-TBA-A gas pipeline was completed in the Jizzakh region. Also, overhaul has been completed and hydro testing has begun on the Kelif-Mubarek gas pipeline section in Kashkadarya region.

In addition, work continues on a round-the-clock basis at other sections of the Mubarek-Zirabulak (BGR-TBA), DBST, Kelif-Mubarek and BGR-TBA-A gas trunklines in Jizzakh, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Kashkadarya and Navoi regions, with a total length of 60.2 kilometers.

Also, EDC commenced reconstruction of gas pipeline of Khududgazta’minot JSC (eight kilometers) in Sergeli district of Tashkent at the crossing of Tashkent ring and belt roads.

Total, as of December 26:

• 10.1 kilometers of pipeline route prepared in mountainous area;

• 43.6 kilometers of pipes were delivered;

• 22.4 kilometers of trenches were dug;

• 32.4 kilometers of pipes welded into a string;

• 20 kilometers of gas pipelines were laid.

It was noted that the implementation of the work will increase the reliability of the gas transportation system of Uzbekistan and increase the throughput of the modernized sections from 67 to 72 million cubic meters of gas per day.
