By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The electricity supply has been suspended in some regions of Iran, including six districts in the capital Tehran, said Iranian Energy Ministry's Spokesman for Electricity Industry Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The spokesman noted that there are restrictions on the supply of fuel to a number of power plants, due to the increase in gas and electricity consumption in residential and commercial facilities.

Rajabi Mashhadi added that if the population saves 10 percent on gas consumption, there will be no problems with the electricity supply in Iran.

As reported, gas consumption in Iran has exceeded 850 million cubic meters in recent days. This has created problems for the operation of gas-fired power plants.
