Kazakhstan launches manufacturing of fuel characterized by record low freezing point

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 15

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s Atyrau refinery has manufactured the first batch of the Altay-45 winter diesel fuel the limiting pour point of which is negative 45˚С, Trend reports citing the refinery’s parent company – KazMunayGas National Company.

The newly manufactured type of fuel meets the ecology requirements of K5 fuels class.

The minimal sulfur content and the absence of additives that improve low-temperature properties make the product equal to the quality of the Arctic diesel fuel. The Atyrau Refinery is the first enterprise in Kazakhstan to produce fuel with a record low freezing point.

The first batch of the diesel fuel was produced in a small volume to meet the demand on the domestic market. In the future, as the demand increases, the volume of Altay-45 diesel fuel production will be increased.

In 2019, Kazakhstan’s Atyrau refinery has started manufacturing and supplies of frost resistant Khazar diesel fuel limiting filterability temperature of which is minus 38 degrees centigrade.

Khazar-38 diesel fuel is a unique product for both the refinery and Kazakhstan. It also meets the K5 ecology class requirements.

KazMunayGas National Company is the Kazakhstan operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state interests in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan.
