Azerbaijan discloses 4M2021 data on gas exports to Turkey

The volume of natural gas export from Azerbaijan to Turkey in the first four months of 2021 totaled over 5.1 billion cubic meters, Trend reports on May 18 referring to the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the SCC, the value of Azerbaijani gas export to Turkey over the reporting period made up $708.34 million.

From January through April of this year, Azerbaijan has exported more than 7.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 79.5 percent more compared to the same period of last year. The value of exported natural gas exceeded $1.1 billion.

The share of gas in the total volume of Azerbaijan's exports in the specified period amounted to 17.78 percent, while Turkey's share in the export of Azerbaijani gas - 65.7 percent.

In 2020, Azerbaijan exported more than 12.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 0.8 percent less compared to 2019. Besides, the value of exported natural gas was about $2.19 billion, an increase of 7.2 percent compared to 2019.

The trade turnover between Turkey and Azerbaijan in 2020 increased by $187.2 million compared to 2019, topping $2.22 billion. At the same time, Turkey's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to over $1.85 billion, and imports from Azerbaijan - $366 million.
