Azerbaijan educes electricity exports in 8M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.30

Azerbaijan has slightly decreased export of electricity from January through August 2021, Trend reports on Sept.30 citing a report from the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the committee, this indicator made up slightly over 872 million kilowatt-hours, which is seven percent less than in the first eight months of 2020 (nearly 938.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity).

The cost of exported electricity from January through August 2021 exceeded $32.2 million, down by $10.3 million or 24.4 percent on annual basis.

The main producer of electricity in Azerbaijan is Azerenergy OJSC.

The total installed capacity of all power plants in Azerbaijan is 7,172.6 megawatts, which makes it possible to generate about 24 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
