Turkmenistan interested in co-op with Austria for natural gas processing projects

Turkmenistan is interested in attracting Austrian companies to participate in the implementation and financing of projects for the construction of new facilities for deep processing of natural gas, the chairman of the Turkmen state concern Nyyazly Nyyazlyev said at a meeting with the Austrian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Michael Linhart, Trend reports citing Turkmen media.

According to the information, within the framework of long-term state programs in Turkmenistan, it is envisaged to implement a number of promising projects for the construction of new facilities for the processing of natural gas, the production of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, iodine-bromine products, caustic soda and chlorine, and the integrated development of the hydro-mineral resources of the Garabogaz Bay.

It was noted that Turkmenistan, which has an impressive export potential, can supply Austria with high-quality chemical products manufactured at the enterprises of the Turkmenhimiya state concern, including polyethylene and polypropylene, environmentally friendly gasoline from natural gas of ECO-93 grade, granular urea, potassium chloride, iodine and carbon.

It was also noted that about $8.4 billion has been allocated for the development of the chemical industry in Turkmenistan since 2010.
