The investment value of the project for construction of a 240 megawatt power plant by bp in Azerbaijan’s liberated lands is $200 million, Director of the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy Tabriz Ammayev told Trend.
"The construction of this power plant will be launched after technical and appraisal work," the director of the state agency added.
Ammayev said that the projects are planned to be implemented to restore small hydroelectric power plants and carry out the technical assessment of the agreement reached with bp within the "green energy" zone concept in the liberated Azerbaijani territories.
"It is planned to attract private investments in the project for the construction of a wind farm with an installed capacity of 100 megawatts in Kalbajar district," the director of the State Agency added. "Preparatory work within this project has already begun. After the approval of the concept, a number of small pilot projects, through which it will be possible to consider the efficiency of using "green energy", will be implemented."
