Three new units of a medium-sized thermal power plant in the Zahedan County of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) will be launched by the 3rd month of next Iranian year (May 22, 2022), the Deputy Director of Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, Hamid Reza Azimi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
The deputy director noted that the power generation capacity of each unit of the thermal power plant will be 42 megawatt-hours.
Azimi added that the construction of the power units will be completed by the end of this month (March 20, 2022).
“In this regard, necessary equipment has been purchased from abroad. Currently, the equipment is being tested. The equipment will be installed by the end of 1st month of the next Iranian year (April 21, 2022),” he said.
According to Azimi, based on research on the needs of the country's electricity network, the focus is on renewal of the power units and related equipment of old medium-sized power plant and building of new medium-sized power units.
