Iran increases gas production at South Pars field

TEHRAN, Iran, March 30. Iran's gas production from the South Pars gas field has reached 2,000 billion cubic meters valued at $360 billion in the past two decades, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Iran is currently producing more than 700 million cubic meters of gas per day in the South Pars joint gas field, the production is expected to increase by the launch of phase 11.

The daily gas production in South Pars has reached 705 million cubic meters in the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2021). The joint gas field shares 70 percent of Iran's gas production capacity.

A total of $81 billion has been invested in South Pars so far, and the cumulative gas extraction has reached 2,000 billion cubic meters, and 2.5 billion barrels of gas condensates have been produced.

South Pars has 37 platforms on the Persian Gulf that extract gas and transfer it to 13 refineries by pipeline.
