TEHRAN, Iran, August 1. Iran and Russia's cooperation in the oil and gas sector will deepen ties and be effective as far as regional changes go, said member of parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Implementation of the strategic pact between Iran and Russia will play a role in pricing and management on the global oil market and will be in the interest of the two countries, he said.
Gazprom and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) have signed a $40-billion agreement for the development of oil and gas fields.
The MP said this deal is beneficial for Iran's oil industry and will help the country improve its economy.
