BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. The foundation of the new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and polypropylene (PP) plant of Iran’s Palayesh Parsian Sepehr Company in Bushehr Province (southern Iran) was laid on August 29, Executive Director of Iran’s Tadbir Energy Development Group Hamid Reza Khalili said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.
He made the remark during the groundbreaking ceremony of the plant on August 29.
Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, Deputy Oil Minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr and other officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
Khalili said that the plant will be built by Iran’s Tadbir Energy Development Group. A total of 1.2 billion will be spent on the plant, which will be located on 31-hectare land. About 5,000 people will be employed during the construction of the plant, as well as 500 people will be employed after it is put into use.
The director added that this plant will produce 300,000 tons of polypropylene, 140,000 tons of acrylic acid and 180,000 tons of super absorbent polymer products per year.
“At the same time, the mentioned plant will use 600,000 tons of propane per year as fuel,” he noted.
