Iran's Nakhl Asmari Petrochemical Company plans to launch its first plant this year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. The first plant of Iran's Nakhl Asmari Petrochemical Company will be put into use by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oil Industry Pension Fund Abdolhossein Bayat said, Trend reports.

According to him, the physical progress in the construction of the plant was 4 percent per month over the past 20 months.

Bayat added that the Nakhl Asmari Petrochemical Company will produce a number of products that have not been produced within the country so far.

The chairman also noted that currently, the needed funds for the construction of the company's plant are continuously provided.

In general, there will be several units at the plant of the Nakhl Asmari Petrochemical Company and these units will produce various petrochemical products.

On average, the company's plant will able to produce 66,000 tons of Formaldehyde, 6,000 tons of Acetaldehyde, 10,000 tons of Paraformaldehyde, 60,000 tons of biodegradable polymers, and 40,000 tons of Polystal annually.

The mentioned plant is located in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). Overall, the construction of this plant is expected to cost $465 million.
