The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is not going to establish united Oil Refinery Company. “SOCAR does not plan the amalgamation of Azerneftyag Oil Refinery Plant with Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant,” Rovnag Abdullayev, the President of the Company, told Trend.
“The amalgamation of the plants is not economically feasible. We intend to carry out modernization of the plants,” he added.
SOCAR annually refine 6.4m tons oil at the plants. Oil producing from own fields is equally distributed among the plants. Azernefyag is independent oil product exporter, while the product of Heydar Aliyev plant is sold by the SOCAR Department for Marketing and Economic Operations.
Azernefyag is specialized in the production of diesel fuel, bitumen, mazut, engine oil. Heydar Aliyev plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, butane and mazut.
