Batumi oil terminal delivered around 5.6m tons of oil cargo in Jan-May

In January to May 2006 the Batumi terminal delivered a total of 5,594 million tons of oil cargo against 3,393 million tons as compared to 2005, the port sources told Trend.

In May the delivery made up 1,402 million tons against 1,059 tons in April 2005 and 1 million tons in May 2006.

Over the first 5 months of 2006 the port shipped 4 million tons of oil, 637,700 tons of gasoline, 549,400 tons of mazut, 125,700 tons of VGO, 60,300 tons of kerosene, 74,900 tons of naphta, 24,200 tons of petrol, 5,600 tons of liquefied gas, 114,600 tons of other products.

The Batumi oil terminal is capable to handle up to 15 million tons of bulk oil cargo a year. The terminal services tankers of 30,000-90,000 tons deadweight on four berths including a special buoy for the vessels of the Aframax class. At the moment the terminals tank park capacity is about 530,000 tons, which is more than enough for handling of current and forecasted cargoes going through the corridor.
