SOCAR Completes Supplying Own Gas to Georgia

Aliyev/ At the existing volumes of gas supplies are going on, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) may complete export its own blue fuel to Georgia within a couple of days, a source in the Government has told Trend. SOCAR is currently supplying Georgia with some 1.2-1.3 mln. cubic meters of gas per day. On the whole, SOCAR is to supply Georgia with 90 mln. cubic meters of blue fuel.

In January-February, 2007, Azerbaijan provided Georgia with 30 mln. cubic meters of gas. The price of the Azerbaijani gas for Georgia is $120 per 1.000 cubic meters.

Azerbaijan has launched supplying Georgia with gas produced from the Azerbaijani offshore gas condensate field of "Shah-Daniz". Every day, the Azerbaijani party supplies Georgia with about 200.000 cubic meters of gas. The guaranteed volume of the gas Georgia is to receive at the price of $63 per 1.000 cubic meters in 2007 will reach 250.000 cubic meters.

All further volumes of gas, as well as its price is a subject of further negotiations to be between the two parties.
