Ceremony Dedicated to Laying of Samsun-Ceyhan Pipeline to be Held on 24 April

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend S. Aliyev / The deputy head of the company Turkish Botas, Saleh Bayragtutan, reported during the first Caspian Trade and Transport Conference that a ceremony dedicated to laying of the Samsun-Ceyhan pipeline would be held on 24 April. The pipeline will avoid Turkish straits during transportation of oil from the Black Sea.

The length of the $1.5bln pipeline will make up 700km. The carrying capacity of the pipeline will reach 70mln tons per year.

The construction of the pipeline was initiated by the Italian oil company ENI, Turkish Jalik group and the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) - the largest oil company in India.

The organizers of the conference in Baku are the consulting company British Confidence Energy Ltd and the Azerbaijani State Oil Academy.
