Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / A meeting between the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovnak Abdullayev and the delegation of the Austrian oil and gas companies headed by the Secretary General of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Labor of Austria, Martin Aykhtinger, focused on the possible gas supply to Europe and SOCAR's participation in this process.
SOCAR reports that presently the SOCAR specialists are researching possible routes for the transportation of the Azerbaijani gas to Europe. The SOCAR's Head said that Azerbaijan intends to act both as a participant and transit country in supplying gas to Europe.
According to the representatives of the Austrian companies OMV and EKONGAS, both transit countries and the European Union are interested in transporting Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
OMV suggested signing an energy co-operation memorandum with SOCAR.
