French Development Agency to participate in implementation of Georgia's Transport Plan

The French Development Agency (FAR) will provide experts on transport policy in Tbilisi, Georgia, Trend reports with reference to website of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

The experts will work for free for the whole city during one year.

At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of financing the most important projects of the French Development Agency, one of which includes transport expertise, and the second drainage networks in Tbilisi. Tbilisi Mayor Kakhaber Kaladze thanked the representative of the FAR for the cooperation in supporting ongoing projects in Tbilisi.

The French development agency will provide Tbilisi with highly qualified specialists in the field of transport policy, which will help the transport utility to improve their skills, as well as to develop individual projects in terms of transport infrastructure and design. Experts will also be actively involved in the implementation of the Transport Plan, which is funded by the Asian Development Bank. In addition, the French Development Agency will finance the work on the drainage network in Tbilisi. The company intends to develop a multi-year plan to prevent flooding of streets and houses.

“A very important meeting was held with the French development agency. We aim at active cooperation, which is focused on expertise and the best experience,”said Maya Bitadze, Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi.
