Import Price Index increases in Georgia

Import Price Index (MPI) increased in Georgia by 0.3 percent in October 2019 compared to September 2019, and by 9.8 percent, while compared to October 2018, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).

Compared to October 2018, the prices were 9.3 percent higher for manufactured products, while for products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 14.1 percent was registered.

With regard to electrical energy, gas, steam and hot water, the prices were 41.7 percent higher.

The Export Price Index (XPI) decreased by 1.4 percent in October 2019 compared to the previous month. There was a 1.5 percent decrease in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to October 2018 the XPI increased by 9.4 percent. In the reporting period, prices for manufactured products increased by 6.3 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 32.6 percent.

In October 2019, the Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (DPPI) increased by 0.1 percent compared to September 2019. The prices went up for electrical energy, gas, stream and hot water by 1 percent.

Compared to October 2018, the DPPI increased by 9.1 percent. There was an increase in the prices for manufactured products (11.1 percent), products from mining and quarrying (1.6 percent), also for electrical energy, gas, stream and hot water (2 percent).
