Azerbaijan's state budget revenues grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10

The surplus of the Azerbaijani state budget amounted to 1.1 billion manat ($647 million) from January through May 2020, which is by 1.3 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan's nominal GDP amounted to 27.5 billion manat ($16.2 billion) from January through May 2020.

According to the data, state budget revenues amounted to more than 10.5 billion manat ($6.2 billion) from January through May 2020, which is by 17 percent more compared to the period from January through May 2019.

In the reporting period, the state budget expenditures amounted to more than 9.4 billion manat ($5.5 billion), which is 0.4 percent less than in the same period of last year, the committee said.

The general forecast for the state budget revenues is 24.1 billion manat ($14.2 billion), expenditure - 26.9 billion manat ($15.8 billion) in 2020.

The state budget deficit is projected at 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion) or 3.3 percent of GDP this year.

The state budget revenues amounted to 24.2 billion manat ($14.2 billion) or 104.5 percent of the forecast figure in 2019, which is 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion) or 7.6 percent more than in 2018.
