In total, Georgia purchased 1,000.9 tons of sausages for the amount of $4.02 million in nine months of 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The import was carried out by air, sea and road transport.
Austria is the leader in the export of sausages to Georgia. This year, 346.6 tons of sausages were imported from this country to Georgia in the amount of $1.15 million.
Ukraine is also an important exporter of sausages to Georgia. This year, 191.3 tons of sausages worth $500,000 were imported from Ukraine to Georgia under the 1601 trademark.
Apart from these countries, sausages are also imported to Georgia from Great Britain, Turkey, Spain, Russia, Poland, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Germany, France, China, and Belarus.
