Uzbekistan’s consumer prices and tariffs increase in October

The average level of consumer prices and tariffs in October 2020 increased by 1.4 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Committee of Uzbekistan.

Prices and tariffs in the consumer market from January through October increased by 7.8 percent on average. Food products in October rose on average by 2.3 percent, non-food products - by 0.8 percent, services - by 0.7 percent.

In total, the level of prices for food products for 10M2020 increased by 10 percent, non-food products - by 6.9 percent, services - by 5.2 percent.

The most significant price increases among main observed groups of food products in October were recorded for eggs (17.7 percent), butter and fats (9.5 percent), fruits and vegetables (3.2 percent), as well as sugar, tea, and other food products (2.3 percent).

Dairy products for the month added in price by 0.9 percent, meat, poultry and fish, alcoholic products - by 0.7 percent, bakery products - by 0.5 percent. Prices in the catering sector increased by 1.3 percent.

The leader in terms of price growth among main observed groups of non-food products for October, as in September, belongs to fuel for cars, which on average became more expensive by 1.7 percent.

Tariffs for paid services to the population in October increased by 0.7 percent. The highest growth was registered for passenger transport services, which increased in price by 1.8 percent, including air services - by 5.2 percent, car services - by 1.4 percent, and rail - by 0.2 percent.

In total, the leadership in the growth of tariffs for 10M2020 belongs to the services of state preschool educational organizations (15.2 percent), leisure services (10 percent), passenger transport (9.9 percent), and consumer services (9.7 percent).
