Uzbekistan considers attracting of investments Economic Development Assistance Fund (EDPF) of the Eximbank of Korea for mining and processing of minerals, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the leadership of the Economic Development Assistance Fund (EDPF) of the Eximbank of Korea discussed issues related to the implementation of joint projects, as well as the possibilities of expanding cooperation through the development of new promising areas and sectors.
Mining and processing of minerals, production of biopharmaceutical drugs and other industries are among the priority areas in which Uzbekistan would like to attract EDPF investments.
The projects that are already being implemented at the moment are investments in healthcare and education, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and the chemical industry.
The parties identified a vector for further interaction was which is a joint study of the technical and economic aspects of the projects presented in order to form a package of specific agreements within the framework of Uzbek-South Korean economic cooperation.
Established in 2016 EDPF is a special instrument for financing investment, infrastructure and social projects aimed at promoting international economic cooperation.
