Assets of Uzbek commercial banks increase over 10M2020

The assets of commercial banks in Uzbekistan as of November 1, 2020, amounted to 345.1 trillion soums ($33.1 billion), increasing by 26.5 percent compared to the beginning of 2020, Trend reports referring to the data of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Some 85 percent of the assets of the entire banking sector of Uzbekistan, or 292.82 trillion soums ($28.1 billion) accounted for financial institutions with the participation of the state share.

National Bank (22.3 percent of total assets), Uzpromstroybank (13.3 percent), and Asaka Bank (11.8 percent) are leading in terms of volume assets.

Banks of Uzbekistan as of November 1 issued loans in the amount of 266.93 trillion soums ($25.6 billion). The growth rate amounted to 26.2 percent compared to the beginning of 2020. The share of state-owned banks accounts for 88 percent or 235.97 trillion soums ($22.6 billion).

The leaders in terms of loans issued are the National Bank (23.9 percent of the total volume of loans), Uzpromstroybank (14.6 percent), and Asaka Bank (12.4 percent)

The total capital of commercial banks in Uzbekistan as of November 1 exceeded 57.51 trillion soums ($5.52 billion). The capital of state-owned banks in Uzbekistan accounts for 48.4 trillion soums ($4.64 billion) or 84 percent of the total capital.

Banks have attracted deposits in the amount of 105 trillion soums ($10.1 billion) over the reported period. The growth compared to the beginning of the year amounted to 15.4 percent. At the same time, 71 percent of deposits or 74.78 trillion soums ($7.17 billion) were placed in state banks.

National Bank (15.4 percent of total deposits), People's Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan (9.6 percent), and Uzpromstroybank (8.9 percent) are leading on attracted deposits.

The liabilities of commercial banks in Uzbekistan increased from 221.7 trillion soums ($21.3 billion) as of January 1, 2020, to 287.59 trillion soums ($27.5 billion) on November 1, 2020.
