Balance deficit of services in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector drops

The volume of services in the economic relations of Azerbaijan with foreign states totaled $6 billion over the first 9 months of 2020, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to the CBA, $4 billion out of the total volume of services were sold by non-residents to Azerbaijani residents, and the rest $2 billion – services provided by Azerbaijani residents to the residents of foreign countries. Aroused deficit in the balance of services increased by 11.4 percent and reached $2 billion.

According to the CBA's report, the deficit in the balance of services in the oil and gas sector (mainly construction and other business services) amounted to $1.8 billion, which increased in annual circulation by 38.7 percent. The deficit in the non-oil sector decreased 2.4 times over the year, amounting to $200 million.

During the reporting period, the cost of construction services provided to non-residents in the non-oil sector decreased by 26.6 percent to $20.6 million. The cost of other business services paid by non-residents in the non-oil sector decreased by 29.1 percent, amounting to $486.5 million.
