Amount of investments made in Iran's Semnan Province spikes

The number of investments made in the industrial sector of the Semnan Province (northern Iran) increased by about 105 percent during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Semnan Province Faramarz Mahboubi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s portal.

Mahboubi noted that 15 trillion rials (about $357 million) were invested in the industrial sector of the province over the reporting period.

The deputy chairman added that as a result of the investments, the licenses were issued for the launch of 130 enterprises within 9 months. The number of licensed enterprises increased by 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to him, with the launch of these enterprises, the employment increased by 52 percent in the first nine months of the current Iranian year, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 2,700 people were employed during this period.

“In addition, 1,250 enterprises were licensed for establishment in Semnan Province over the 9 months. In total, 84 trillion rials (about $2 billion) is to be invested for the establishment of these enterprises. It is estimated that about 27,200 people will be employed after the establishment of these enterprises,” he said.

Mahboubi stressed that a total of 1,380 licenses were issued in connection with enterprises in 9 months.
