GDP of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan shows rise in 2020

The value of GDP of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 2020 made up 2.9 billion manat ($1.7 billion), showing a growth of 1.1 percent compared to 2019, Trend reports on Jan.14 citing the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.

The GDP per capita indicator in Nakhchivan for the reporting year reached 6,310 manat ($3,710), having risen by 1.8 percent over the year.

“Industry ranks first in terms of its share in Nakhchivan’s GDP. The industrial products were produced in the amount of 1.04 billion manat ($610 million), while a year earlier the industrial production figure was 1.4 percent less,” said the report.

At the same time, as part of investments in fixed assets, slightly over 1.04 billion manat was allocated from all financial sources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, showing a growth of 1.1 percent year on year.

In 2019, the GDP of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was 2.23 billion manat ($1.31 billion).

In general, the GDP of Azerbaijan made up slightly over 72.4 billion manat ($42.6 billion) in 2020, down by 4.3 percent compared to the previous year when the indicator exceeded 81.6 billion manat ($48 billion), and the real economic grew by 2.2 percent.
