Azerbaijan sees increase in bank lending y-o-y

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 27

Bank lending in Baku city and districts of Azerbaijan has grown from January through July 2021, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's (CBA) statistics bulletin.

According to the CBA, this showing reached 14.96 billion manat ($8.81 billion), up by 5.4 percent on annual basis.

In the first seven months of this year, the loans worth 11.75 billion manat ($6.91 billion) were issued in Baku, which is by 3.7 times more than in the districts.

At the same time, 7.8 billion manat ($4.6 billion) - 66.4 percent of total lending in Baku accounted for the loans in the national currency in Baku.

The average annual interest rate on loans in Azerbaijan was 11.63 percent while in Baku - 9.73 percent.
