Kazakhstan reports increase in gross international reserves

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 9

The gross international reserves of Kazakhstan’s National Bank amounted to $35.8 billion in October 2021, the bank’s preliminary data said, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank.

According to the data, the value of the country’s international reserves increased by 0.8 percent compared to last month and by 0.5 percent than as of the end of 2020.

“International reserves overall, i.e. including the foreign currency denominated assets of the National Fund ($55.08 billion) equaled $90.9 billion as at the end of October 2021,” the report said.

In turn, the assets in freely convertible currency have decreased by 6.4 percent compared to September 2021 and increased by 4.1 percent compared to Dec. 2020, and amounted to $12.5 billion.

The country’s assets in gold amounted to $23.2 billion in October 2021, which is 5.2 percent more than in September 2021 and 1.3 percent less than as of the end of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s net foreign exchange reserves equaled $33.7 billion during the reporting period, which is 0.9 percent more than last month and 3.9 percent less since the beginning of the year.
