The total number of taxpayers in Azerbaijan as of December 1, 2021, increased by 9.9 percent compared to the same period in 2020, Trend reports citing the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
According to the ministry, of the 1,321,539 taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan as of December 1, 2021, 87.8 percent were individuals and 12.2 percent were legal entities.
It is reported that 10,769 commercial organizations were registered in Azerbaijan from January through November 2021, which is 28.5 percent more than in the same period last year.
In particular, local investments were made in 90.7 percent of registered commercial enterprises, while foreign investments accounted for 9.3 percent.
At the same time, 82.8 percent of commercial organizations were registered in electronic form, 17.2 percent - by submitting paper documents.
