Tax revenues in Iran soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Tax revenues in Iran increased by 58 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

Data from Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA) shows that Iran received taxes worth 4.9 quadrillion rials (about $117 billion) in 8 months. Whereas, the figure stood at 3.1 quadrillion rials (about $73.8 billion) in the same period last year.

Direct taxes (includes legal tax, wealth tax, income tax) accounted for 3.01 quadrillion rials (about $71.7 billion) or 62 percent of the total tax revenues for 8 months.

Tax revenues from legal entities amounted to 1.92 quadrillion rials (about $45.7 billion).

Also, wealth tax revenues in Iran for 8 months amounted to 180 trillion rials (about $4.28 billion), and income tax revenues - 910 trillion rials (about $21.7 billion).

In addition, tax payments on goods and services for the reporting period stood at 1.88 quadrillion rials (about $44.8 billion) in 8 months.

Overall, tax revenues in Iran amounted to 4.7 quadrillion rials (about $112 billion) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). This is an increase of 54 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
