Azerbaijan, Baku, August 17 / Trend , G.Veliyev /
Azerpocht (state postal operator of Azerbaijan) considers the introduction of online trading systems in the activity of enterprises, a source at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend on August 17.
The operator is considering the possibility of using the experience of South Korea, where electronic commerce is the most effective tool of trade and procurement activities.
Introducing automated management systems of trade and procurement activities in the government agencies will help establish a procedure for making purchase maximally open and accessible to public control, contribute to an increase in the number of orders, eliminate the causes and conditions leading to corruption.
Despite that today the online trade market of the Republic is still in infancy, most of market participants believe that in the near future this sphere will rapidly be a growing segment that could seriously compete with many European countries, for which the distance trade became familiar enough.
The possibility of introducing e-commerce has gained urgency after a visit of representatives of the Korean IT Industry Promotion Agency to Baku, during which the project of feasibility study aimed at the modernization of Azerpocht state enterprise was considered. In the near future, the ministry will submit final proposals to the government.
