BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. The Internet Resilience Index global ranking has been a stable indicator of IT sector development for many years, the press service of the Russian Qrator Labs IT company told Trend.

According to the press service, at the same time, several significant changes took place in the ranking in 2022, such as the decline of the US and other big countries of the world due to the stable consolidation of telecom operators and their investments in developing additional services for users, such as video broadcasts, TV shows and others, rather than improving the internet resilience.

"The key change in the Internet Resilience Index in 2022 was a downgrade of Thailand, Spain, the US and Taiwan beyond the Top 20. Russia is also at risk of leaving the Top 20. However, Ireland, Belgium and Hong Kong re-entered the Top 20 after they left it in 2021. Seychelles entered the Top 20 for the first time," the press service said.

Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore and the UK were top five in the ranking of countries in terms of the sustainability of the national internet segments in 2022. Argentina, Belgium, Indonesia, Japan and Hong Kong took last places in this ranking.

The research was based on the study of national internet segments in 249 countries of the world. To form the ranking, operators were selected whose failure could lead to the loss of global availability (the operator's ability to receive traffic from other operators) of the largest percentage of autonomous systems in a certain national segment.
