HTC Omni jumps into UMPC game with laptop-like form factor

( Mobile ) - Many Windows Mobile enthusiasts are absolutely in love with just about anything that HTC produces, and now that the Taiwanese manufacturer is entering the UMPC foray, they have yet another reason to celebrate. The recently revealed HTC Omni has the appearance of a really tiny laptop, or perhaps more accurately, one of those uber fancy electronic dictionaries that you see popping around the streets of Seoul or Tokyo.

Instead of running a full build of Windows Vista, the HTC Omni is powered by Windows Mobile 6. That's the sacrifice you have to make to enjoy this wondrously compact package wrapped in a beautiful glossy casing. Key features include the 4-inch 800x480 display, UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, TV/VGA out, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, microSD expansion, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and that glorious QWERTY keyboard.

No word on pricing or availability, but this is easily one of the most gorgeous UMPCs I've seen in a while. I'd imagine that the front cover is one big fingerprint magnet though.
