Uzbekistan, Belarus eye signing mutual tourism dev’t agreement

Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed the mutual promotion of tourism potential, attracting tourists, Trend reports referring to the press service of State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan.

Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov and the Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marynich discussed the issues of attracting tourists, as well as attracting Belarusian companies to the construction of eco-houses in Uzbekistan, in particular in Bustanlik and Zaamin districts (Tashkent and Jizzakh regions).

As a result of the negotiations, an intergovernmental agreement on the development of mutual tourism is being developed. This agreement is planned to be signed within the framework of the intergovernmental commission, which will take place on December 16-18 this year.

According to the committee, the agreement will be aimed at the mutual promotion of tourism potential, attracting tourists from Belarus to Uzbekistan and from Uzbekistan to Belarus.

In addition, particular emphasis will be placed in the agreement on the promotion of ski resorts in Uzbekistan, as well as projects related to investment in the tourism industry of Uzbekistan.
