ADY Express LLC, the subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, transported a total of 126,826 tons of cargo in the first quarter of 2020, Spokesman for ADY Express LLC Ilham Abdulov told Trend.
“The company transported the goods through Azerbaijan by transit, along international transport corridors. The goods for export, import, as well as domestic cargo were also transported,” he said.
The spokesman added that the goods were transported in the direction of East-West, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK), as well as the Black Sea ports of Georgia and in the opposite direction.
In the North-South direction, cargos were transported from Russia to Iran and back, while in the North-West direction, the cargos went from Russia via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) to Turkey, he said.
The transshipped cargo mainly consisted of metals and fertilizers, said Abdulov.
Via BTK alone, 17,817 tons of the total volume of cargo were transported by ADY Express in 1Q2020, he added.
