Azerbaijan carried out air cargo transportation operations worth $490.7 million from January through May 2020, which is by four times less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee.
Over the reporting period, the volume of cargo transportation by air amounted to 26,200 tons, which is 46 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
The volume of exported cargo by air decreased by 48.8 percent and amounted to 21,900 tons. The value of exported cargo made up $93.2 million, having decreased by 3.5 percent over the year.
Meanwhile, the volume of import by air amounted to 4,290 tons, amount of which was $397.4 million, a decrease by 4.8 times.
In the first five months of 2020, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with five major trading partners amounted to $6.6 billion, or 59.5 percent of the country's total trade.
Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations with major trade partner countries amounted to $2.81 billion, which is 0.9 percent more compared to the indicator of the same period of 2019, which was $2.78 billion.
