Russian Corporation to finance supply of metro trains for Uzbekistan Railways

Russian VEB.RF Corporation and the Tashkent Metro (unitary enterprise of the Uzbekistan Railways JSC) signed a loan agreement for the supply of ten modern subway trains manufactured by Russian Transmashholding, Trend reports citing VEB.RF.

According to the agreement, the volume of the credit line amounts to 30.4 million euro for a period of up to 12 years.

In addition, Roseximbank JSC (REC group) will take part in financing the transaction from the Russian Export Center (part of the VEB.RF group), which will finance, under a separate loan agreement, part of the cost of subway trains and the cost of a set of spare parts and accessories under the insurance coverage of EXIAR JSC (REC group).

The document was signed by the Deputy Chairman of VEB.RF, Board Member Daniil Algulian on the part of VEB.RF and by the head of the Tashkent Metro Unitary Enterprise Oybek Khudoikulov on the part of the Tashkent Metro.

It is reported that the rolling stock will be produced at the Metrovagonmash enterprise near Moscow (part of Transmashholding JSC). The new subway cars will be used to form 10 four-car trains. The service life of subway cars and frames is 30 years.
