The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 13 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, a total of 3.59 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port last Iranian year. So, 2.4 million tons of cargo were loaded and 1.2 million tons were unloaded. While in the preceding Iranian year, 3.18 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port.
"In addition, 2.36 million tons of cargo were exported and 601,000 tons were imported through the Bushehr port in the last Iranian year," the statistics said.
During last Iranian year, 547 tons of cargo were loaded 260 tons were unloaded in the port for transit. As well as, 27,800 tons of cargo were loaded and 588,000 tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 9,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,560 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes within last Iranian year.
"So, 239,000 tons of essential products, 7,580 tons of metal products, 2 million tons of construction and mining materials, 16,300 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port over the last Iranian year," the statistics said.
Moreover, 849 tons of chemicals, 5,070 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 20,300 tons of small and assorted products, 347,000 tons of container products, 959,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port in the last Iranian year.
Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.
