Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization discloses volume of cargo available in ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6

There were 4.56 million tons of strategically important products in 11 ports of Iran from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to July 3, said Ravanbakhsh Behzadian, director general of the department on port issues of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), Trend reports citing the PMO’s website.

Behzadian noted that the mentioned ports are Amirabad, Noshahr, Anzali, Imam Khomeini, Shahid Rajaee, Chabahar, Astara, Fereidoonkenar, Bandar Lengeh, Shahid Bahonar, Khorramshahr ports.

The director general added that while the strategically important goods are wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, rice, sugar, crude edible oil and oilseeds.

“So, 375,000 tons of goods were available in Amirabad port, 206,000 tons in Noshahr port, 77,800 tons in Anzali port, 3.37 million tons in Imam Khomeini port, 268,000 tons in Shahid Rajaee port, 173,000 tons in Chabahar port, 5,130 tons in Astara port, 94,200 tons in Fereidoonkenar port, 70 tons in Bandar Lengeh port, 126 tons in Shahid Bahonar port and 333 tons in Khorramshahr port,” he said.

Behzadian stressed that 19 ships carrying 473,000 tons of cargo have docked at the platforms and 28 ships carrying 1.27 million tons of cargo are waiting to dock.
