Azerbaijan carried out railway cargo transportation worth over $1.35 billion from January through June 2021, which is 12.3 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
During the reporting period, the volume of freight traffic by rail amounted to almost 3.19 million tons, which is 1.8 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, the SCC said.
The volume of export cargo transportation by rail exceeded 1.33 million tons, or in monetary terms - $431 million (a decrease of 85 percent).
At the same time, imports by rail during the reporting period amounted to 1.85 million tons, or in monetary terms - $925 million (a decrease of 5.35 percent).
During the reporting period, the trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to $14.2 billion, including exports - $8.81 billion, imports - over $5.39 billion.
