BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. The Turkish port of Mersin handled 8.9 million tons of cargo in 1Q2022, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to ministry, 647,602 tons of cargo was transported by ships under the flag of Turkey through the port of Mersin, and 8.2 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Mersin handled 326,758 tons of transit cargo from January through March 2022," ministry said.
The ports of Turkey handled 24.1 million tons of cargo in March 2022.
Volume of cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey through local ports amounted to 2.2 million tons during the specified period.
Volume of cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 31.8 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 6.6 million tons of transit cargo in March 2022.
Turkish ports handled 98.6 million tons of cargo in 1Q2022.
Volume of cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 6.9 million tons during the specified period.
