BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 2.7 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 161,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 1st month. Of this, about 147,000 tons were loaded and 14,300 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 92,600 tons of cargo were exported and 5,020 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 1st month, 592 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,630 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 53,600 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 11 tons of cargo were loaded, while 6,610 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 1st month.
“So, 82,700 tons of essential products, 1,220 tons of metal products, 17,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,180 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 23 tons of chemicals, 29 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 6,700 tons of container products, and 51,200 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
