BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 49.7 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 592,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 276,000 tons were loaded and 316,000 tons were unloaded.

At the same time, 15,600 tons of cargo were exported and 4,080 tons were imported through the Qeshm port in the 2nd month.

Over the 2nd month, 260,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 312,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

Furthermore, 258 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for other purposes.

According to the statistics, 207 tons of essential products, 11,600 tons of construction and mining materials, 1 ton of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 13 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 523,000 tons of small and assorted goods, 1,050 tons of container products, and 55,800 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port within the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
